Millionaire before 30? How about Billionaire? Some have done it!
What can we learn from these meteoric success stories?
A whole lot in fact. Let’s take a look:
“I tell people that it’s never easy. If you want to create a really strong brand, it takes years to build something concrete, and you have to market yourself and stay true to your vision. If you have an idea, think about your message, think about your vision—what exactly is it that you’re trying to do. I always tell people that your vision is your destination—it’s where you’re going. Your vehicle is your craft but the gasoline, the fuel, is your motivation and how hungry you are to realize your vision. I make it look easy but it’s definitely a decision and a road that is difficult but once you reach the top of the mountain, the view is amazing.”

What can we learn from these precocious success stories?
First of all, they didn’t let their youth hold them back. From Elon Musk and Nick D’Aloisio successfully selling their own self-programmed software at the tender age of 12(!), through to Pete Cashmore and David Karp making efforts to try to look and sound older, all forged ahead with their plans despite lack of experience. They also didn’t let personal circumstances keep them down; several still lived with their parents, and Sophia Amoruso had recently been caught shoplifting!
But the most important factor is this; they all pursued their own ideas.
They all believed in themselves, conceived their own ideas, and worked determinedly to bring these ideas into being. None of them took a formulaic approach, or were necessarily trying to become “The Next Mark Zuckerberg”; all of them were ardently pursuing their own personal dreams and goals; goals which just so happened to benefit the public to such a degree that they became highly successful and in demand.
Indeed, the lives of these 8 CEOs are all sensational evidence for why following your passion is not a desire, but a need!
